i had a holiday at highpoint 'castle' in newmarket.at night i would look out the window and see tons of rabbits but never did i hear them .i must add that highpoint castle has flood lights all around it so the guests dont 'sleepwalk' over the fence

We have lots of rabbits here (this year more than ever for some reason), you can't hear them at all.

You probably don't have straw outside. They rustle around looking for food and you can occasionally hear them thump their hind legs when they take off. If there's a few together you'll hear them.
I always thought you couldn't hear hedgehogs,but-------------they make a noise too,like a grunting sound.
