Paint samples, RC/1 and RC/2, taken from the scene, blood on end of guns barrel

'Ron' Cook (SOCO) deceived the COLP investigators regarding the taking and recording of these paint samples (RC/1 and RC/2), by declaring that it was an error in the CID/6 forms where it appears as though these paint samples had been taken at the scene on the 8th August 1985, by reference by him to exhibits DRH/43 to DRH/49, which he falsely claimed had all not been taken from the scene, until the 9th August 1985 - facts which we now know are 'not' true...

Pause, for a moment, and consider what DS Davidson had to say to the same COLP investigators, about the taking of these two paint samples, and how during interview he put it on record that 'Ron' Cook had handed these to him at the scene on the 8th August 1985. Additionally, do not overlook what DS Davidson had to say when COLP asked him during the same police interview, why these two paint samples (RC/1 and RC/2) had been taken on 'that' occasion? How Davidson had answered promptly, by saying they were taken at that time because of some paint found on the end of a guns barrel which had been found downstairs at the scene. COLP asked him, 'do you mean paint on the silencer'? Davidson responded, in a clear unmistakable manner by saying, 'no', he said, 'paint found on the end of a guns barrel'...

So, any scratch mark which might have been present on the red painted aga in the kitchen could have become damaged and scratched as a result of it and the end of a guns barrel coming into contact with one another...
