Registered Firearms dealers

Registered Firearms dealers

Every registered firearms dealer is duty bound to keep a firearms register, into which he must record details, and corresponding dates, when he was in possession of weapons, ammunitions and accessories relating to such weapons. This is important to understand, because Peter Eaton was / is a registered firearms dealer. As such, he wiould have had to keep proper reccorss of any weapons and accessories, and ammunitions that were brought to his home for safe keeping by David Boutflour, Robert Boutflour, or as the case may be, his wife, Ann eaton, and anyother person...

With this in mind...

The date the silencer was found in the gun cupboard at whf, and the recovery of all the guns which were taken from there to Eaton's home address and placed in storage...

For some as yet unknown reason, Peter Eaton was never asked to produce his records to help confirm the date when the silencer that was found in the gun cupboard at whf, was placed into storage in Peter Eaton's care, as a registered firearms dealer...

I would of thought that any such documentation can be destroyed by the dealer after six years by law, as is the case with any company records bar some insurance docs which should be kept 50 years. I know it doesn't answer any questions but it seems pointless dragging it up, something the defence should of thought of at the time...

Its five years I think - but why would relatives want to destroy something as important as that, they pretty much saved everything else they ever wrote about or made notes about? Not only that, but it would have or should have been part of EP remit to check the records held by Peter Eaton in his capacity of being a registered firearms dealer,  in connection with these matters...
