Lookout, because I've always thought the investigation was hardly one of the finest, there are several -numerous- questions I could ask. However, in fairness to them, the majority seemed to accept exactly what Jeremy had told them which would have made it irrelevant to do checks with BT at THAT time -even if they had, it appears that there are some doubts as to what information would have been forthcoming. I believe someone managed to contact one of the engineers responsible for the area which was undergoing the changeover, always a bad time for collating reliable information.You say had you been the police you'd have done..................but you have to remember that the Bamber's prominent position in local society, and by default, Jeremy's, would have made it very unlikely that they'd have challenged/checked what he said. They didn't need to eliminate him. They accepted what he said as the truth.
