"Offending behaviour programmes include courses for those with substance abuse problems, sexual offending histories and a general need to enhance their thinking processes. An additional course called ‘Foundation' helps to give prisoners the necessary insights they require before accessing further programmes.
Assessment and Intervention Centre
This is a multi-disciplinary team of staff including discipline staff, Chartered Psychologists, Probation Staff and support grades. The team are based in purpose built centre offering 10 group rooms and 4 interview rooms, all of which are fitted with video monitoring equipment allowing constant quality control of our programme delivery. The centre offers numerous intervention programmes.

These include;
Auricular Acupuncture
CARATs (inc relapse prevention, one to one sessions, detox referrals)
Core, Extended, Adapted Sex Offender Treatment Programmes (SOTP)
Enhanced Thinking Skills (ETS) including a new adapted programme
Focus (drug and alcohol treatment programme)
Healthy Sexual Functioning Programme (HSFP)
Pre Release & Offender Development
Voluntary Drug Testing scheme

The unit also provides a wide range of psychological services and support to the prison as a whole; this includes structured support for the Segregation Unit (F Wing), the CSC and the Health Care Centre. The unit contributes to Sentence Planning Meeting Review Boards which now have more focus on addressing individual needs and managing risk.

SH completed these courses also now referred to as CALM & ETS...

CALM = controlling anger and learning to manage it

If my interpretation is wrong I'm okay with that and more than happy for this to be showed - in a way I understand. Lol  ;D ;D

It's just I still get the impression (and it's my interpretation from what I've read) JB knowingly lied to his legal team and they failed to request supporting evidence?

And for anyone who may be interested - in 2014 SH was due to be transferred to the therapeutic community of HMP Grendon.

Why would his solicitors come up with arguments giving reasons why Jeremy refused to undertake offence related work? When they apparently think that JB had applied for said courses.


Does anybody else understand what I'm saying?   ???

I wonder, MIGHT their statement have meant that whilst he applied to do certain courses -GOOD boy. Shout it loudly. Say it first- they also had to admit that he refused to undertake offence related work -NOT good, Said quietly. Thrown in almost as an afterthought?

I understand what you are saying.. I'm not in disagreement with that... I'm of the belief JB lied to his solicitors the same way SH lied to his solicitor when he told him in 2012 that he had the full support of family and friends - when all he had back then was me!

I was told it was just a tick box exercise by both SH and his solicitor but I was uncomfortable with this. Bearing in mind this was an application to downgrade to a D-Cat from a C-Cat - the next stage - release.

I was concerned if SH got to a D-Cat prison and went up against the parole board in order to be released he would be knocked back due to the fact he had lied in his application for D-Cat status. He would not have been able to show he had support from family and friends.

Might the statement have meant he manipulated his legal team into believing he had applied for courses but the courses he was referring to were of an educational nature not offence related? His solicitors mistakingly believing he was referring to offence related courses?

No, because they are arguing for him refusing to undertake offence related work.  >:(

And again for anyone who may be interested - One of the reasons SH blogged about and admitted publicly to the Zenith burglary was to ensure he didn't face a gate arrest following his eventual release from Hollesley Bay.

I'm interpreting the judgement based on him being an appellant - I.e maintaining innocence - not willing to admit to his crimes. Doing offence related course only if they are related to previous index offences for example and not the murders...

But they are arguing and giving reasons for JB not undertaking offence related work.

If JB had told his solicitors that he had done offence related work, then why are the solicitors putting reasons for JB NOT doing defence related work.


I can't understand why nobody is able to understand that. I'm finding this really quite a bizarre thread.  :-\
