Come to think of it,what about the one which was picked up from the Eatons by S.Jones who threw it into the boot of his car and tootled off after necking half the bottle of whisky to which the Eatons appeared to have been miffed about.?

Sounds rather like "Have ye heard the one about..........................." and may have similar substance.

My neighbour, who was Nevill's best friend, also claims to have been told it by Nevill.

when did he tell you this?

"Jones placed it IN his desk.................." I'm of the opinion that 5 silencers are 4 rumours too many.
I agree Jane, but don't you think had the jury heard about all these other silencers including the one used as a paperweight on Taff Jones' desk it might just have swayed one more juror?

One thing does really laugh at the other.Handled by Lord knows who then placed on clean blotting paper------what a joke. It's like a schoolboy howler.

I think you'll find that there were 5 silencers in all.

Ouch! Steve you sometimes ask difficult questions. It's with hindsight and 30 years of experience which causes me to realize that amongst the wheat there's an awful lot of chaff concerning this case. Now I regard 4 extra silencers as a "making it up as we go to make it sound good" tactic. I think I'd have found it very confusing as a juror, working out which silencer was supposed to have been found where.

Jane has her feet on the ground in the Tolleshunt D'Arcy area and has friends who were acquainted with the major protagonists of this case, just as I had some connections with the Altrincham area and worked for the same employer as Julie in London, and though I was never acquainted with her I enjoyed the notoriety for a time and my five minutes of fame.

Julie is a highly regarded employee in education in Canada and has worked her way up to almost the top in that domain. I would expect that she has done a welter of charity work in what free time she had after bringing up a family and looking after a husband. I think after all this time she is entitled to have her word respected, even if admittedly this is no consolation to Colin as he faces the thirtieth Christmas without his sons.

Irrelevant
As you are fond of quoting Doctor Vanezis let me embellish his quote: Jeremy was a nutter, is a nutter and should remain confined for the rest of his natural life, whether in Bastoy or Monster Mansions.

Vanezis never said that. making up quotes does not help establish facts

because I would like to know more detail.

My neighbour, who worked in agriculture, and his late wife were great friends of Nevill and June. They were of the same ages and both couples had a girl and boy. It wasn't just a work based relationship. They socialized. My neighbour still misses Nevill dreadfully but they shared a mutual friend with whom he's still in contact.

With all the talk of purported telephone calls and silencers we quite often forget the human aspects of this tragedy. I watched a programme the other week about a man who talked about bereavement, and he took each day in five minute pieces, and was grateful if he could get through them.

everyone reacts differently to things and has different was of dealing with bereavement.
