If the penalty for fabricating evidence, and being a false witness, was a punishment, of 'hanging by the neck, in public', then I feel confident that these despicable individuals would have to think long and hard, before introducing the lies they tell. It is easy to lie in the present Criminal Justice system...

Saddam Hussein, was hanged in public, without any direct proof that he had been responsible for any of the atrocities, accused of. There were no weapons of mass destruction. Our leaders lied, conspired, and were judge and jury. It pisses me off that our leaders are two faced, and guilty of killing innocent citizens, when they sanction bombing raids, etc, etc...

Mike, can you clarify exactly what you mean here. Just how many Western leaders are you suggesting should be held as international criminals, and how many innocent people, over what period of time, are you suggesting were unlawfully killed, and by what means?

Then how do you explain the footage of Saddam Hussein reading out a list of names of people that were to be taken out and shot?

I wasn't suggesting otherwise, Lookout. I ended up feeling we'd gone in under false pretences and at the back of my mind was "better the devil you know." I don't know the whole truth about how it is there now but I'll hazard a guess that many would prefer to go back to the old way. It can be very hard for those used to living under a dictatorship to have democracy thrust on them........................I may have to run for cover now!!!!!

I agree David but don't know if bombing is the answer. The Syrian people have suffered so horrendously already, we might just make it worse for them.  Is it any different bombing Syria than bombing Iraq?  I know t's difficult but I am very unsure it is the right thing to do.

The west and particularly America propped up Saddam until he got out of hand and out of control, they wanted rid of him because he was no longer of any use to them, they cared nothing for the people of Iraq.imo
