At 4:45am on Wednesday 27 July 2011 a gun discharged in the bedroom of Orlando realtor Caryn Kelley,48, killing her boyfriend, divorcé and father of four daughters Phillip Peatross. Ms. Kelley gave conflicting accounts of how the "love of her life" came to be shot to Police,suggesting that Phillip had told her he couldn't live without her and took the gun from her before shooting himself. A bruise on her arm suggests that there may have been a struggle,yet the angle the bullet was fired suggests if he did shoot himself he did so awkwardly in the cheek. Ms. Kelley was charged with murder in the first degree,later reduced to manslaughter. The charge became immaterial however,as the jury of three men and three women took just one hour and thirty- five minutes to absolve the defendant of all culpability. Outside the courtroom when asked what she would do now she replied "Go to Disneyland",leaving horrified relatives to wonder just what the truth was in this shocking case.
