The Timothy Hennis saga
« on: April 22, 2015, 10:18:PM »
In 1986 army officer Timothy Hennis was found guilty by circumstantial evidence for rape and triple murder of Katie Eastburn and two of her three children.

Six years later supreme court gave him a retrial due to the first trial being unfair. He was found not guilty and walked free.

In 1996 a film was made about him and the case, firmly believing he was innocent and portraying him as innocent

In 2007 the case was re-opened due to DNA technology. Vaginal samples taken from Katie Eastburn in 1985 where analysed and guess who's sperm was found?

This is a great documentary about the entire chain of events

The defense said he failed on the first verdict of guilty so he went to work then totally discredited the original two witness and even convinced the CPS that they may have sent an innocent man to death row.

The defense even found evidence that the first trail did not produce.

Then unreasonable doubt and he was released.

18 years later he was re-arrested for his crime of murdering two children and their mother.  A semen sample that was tested in 2005 belonged to him. Yet the DNA under the fingernails of the children and their mother did not match Hinnis.

He is still trying to prove his innocence isn't he?  He did it imo.  :-\

Owts possible Nugs. The male witness described him to a tee...so did the female witness.

The other thing I found interesting was the lab who had rested the DNA samples on the 2nd trial was discredited due to skewing results to to help the prosecution. So the DNA samples were then sent to another lab and the results were the same.  ;D

extremely unlikely

A Six foot tall army sergeant wont need an accomplice in this situation.

The witness that night only saw the one man walking the street alone.

The witness described him very well.

The amount of money withdrawn form her bank card was the same amount of money he had to pay his landlord who he owed money.

It would be very difficult to find an accomplice to murder children and what for?

My conclusion is -
I don't think Hennis actually planned to do this in advance, Since he purchased the dog from her a few day before and knew her husband was going away, I think he went over there thinking he was gods gift to women and could bed her then she rejected his advance and he couldn't accept the rejection so went into a rage and raped her then killed all witnesses except the baby as she was to young to remember anything.  This makes sense because Hennis is not a serial killer or suspected of any other murders and they get the urge to do it again. He probably got himself into a position of no return where by once he had raped her and realised the gravity of the situation he had to kill all the witnesses in order to get away with it.

There are still things about the case that are unanswered. Like who wrote note?

This is a new case to me and thanks for uploading. The note could have been written by any crank. I like the Perry Mason moment at 2:39.02.
