I remember reading that all shots were fired from a foot or less away. But correct me if I'm wrong.
If this is correct, then why or why did Neville allow Sheila to aim a rifle at him from less than a foot away ? Surely he could have ducked or taken the rifle away. Or reacted sooner as a crazy Sheila approached him.
If he was already upstairs when Sheila started shooting, as suggested, then he knew he would be next when Sheila turned to him. But did nothing and allowed the rifle to get within a foot of him.
If he was running upstairs, unprotected after hearing shots when in the kitchen, then why get so close to Sheila and then not attempt to smother her ? Instead allowing her to point a rifle at him, from a foot away and then fire the rifle four times at him, before running straight back downstairs.
If the shots were fired from several feet away, then Sheila accurately hit a moving Neville four times. Right by the bed he had been sleeping in. Although Sheila had 'limited' experience with guns.
Either way, it seems Neville foolishly put himself in a position where he would be vulnerable and of no use. Both before and after shots were fired. As well as making himself an easy target for Sheila, who still had at least four bullets to shoot Neville with.
Does anyone know the predicted distance of Neville's first four shots.
