    I know the history of Crimea prior to 1783. Are you suggesting we return it to the Ottoman Empire? The Mongol Golden Horde? The Tatars only gained independence under Catherine The Great when Russia defeated the Ottomans.
     Anyway, where are these 200,000 Tatars demanding repatriation? Crimea is Russian. Crimeans overwhelmingly want to remain Russian. Your comparison with Palestine exposes your shortcomings.
Free and fair elections might be a start, held under OSCE auspices, not conducted under the barrel of a Russian gun. A UN peacekeeping force could have gone in to Eastern Ukraine had there been atrocities committed against ethnic Russians, but once Putin had invaded Crimea his hands were tied and he needed a buffer zone to keep the spoils.

   There are free and fair elections already in Crimea. Ukraine have made clear that they would not having a referendum in Crimea. Again, already discussed on the Crimea thread and previously. Here is what you ignore;

 "Ukraine's plans have been spelt out by many Official representatives of the Regime. Such as Kyrylo Budanov the Intelligence Chief who recently made the statement below. No secret is made of this intention. The self determination of the Crimeans is what Russia offer. Ukraine openly offer ethnic cleansing and genocide;

“The majority of the radical pro-Russian population, upon the arrival of Ukrainian units in Crimea through any form of advancement, be it offensive or otherwise, will promptly depart for the Russian Federation via the ferry crossing,” Budanov believes.
    “No one will remain here. They will vacate this territory — they are not suicidal, believe me,” he said
.

     It is not open to any other interpretation, Budanov is openly threatening genocide of "pro Russian Crimeans". To be "pro Russian" in A Ukrainian controlled Crimea would be "suicidal". This would also apply to "pro Russian" Tatars, by the way."

     Whether you like to admit it or not, there is no dispute in Crimea to settle. The Ukrainians who claim ownership are fully aware that the Crimeans don't want to be part of Ukraine and never have. You are just blinded by Russia hatred and it shows in your incoherence. You cannot lay out a legitimate claim to Crimea from either Ukraine or from some alleged Tatar diaspora demanding right of return. You are just certain that it can't be Russian.

Zelensky to sign US minerals deal soon, Waltz says

https://kyivindependent.com/zelensky-to-sign-us-minerals-deal-in-very-short-term-waltz-says/
So they've lost the war with the Russians and he's now being Shafted by the Yanks, who do you trust most, someone who hits you from the front, or someone who stabs you in the Back?  Yet Starmer calls him a Winston ChurcHILL, He's more like a BennyHILL

It has the same principles as the Iraq invasion, “Of course it’s about oil; we can’t really deny that,” said Gen. John Abizaid, former head of U.S. Central Command and Military Operations in Iraq, in 2007.  The Yanks are the worst of the worst, and Europe will pay the Price. We will keep giving them Money, while the Yanks will be taking money.

Listened to Trump/Vance and Zelenskyy on the news.  Soooo embarrasing for all involved.  Why would leaders act like this in public?

The meeting should have been held behind closed doors. I'm not surprised at the content.

It was great to see that toe-rag Zelensky utterly humiliated.   He is toast now.

I was surprised!  I was shocked and horrified!  Appalling for leaders to air dirty laundry in public.

I don't understand all the background/history but it made me feel very uncomfortable for leaders to act in  such a unstatesmanlike and unpresidential manner.

Zelensky needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history.  That coke head is corrupt and used to being fawned over by drooling European political leaders.  I am no Trump fan but I really enjoyed this.

First time in my life I see two heads of state talking like this. The real housewives of the oval office.

Must say NGB, i thought Zelensky was very poor, he's way out of his depth and went down in my estimation.  I think the clothes he wears are his begging Bowl and Trump doesn't fall for it.
