My apologies:
« on: February 21, 2015, 02:07:PM »
Grahame kindly supplied the link to RB's 'alleged' diaries yesterday. Which Mike had previously supplied.

This had lots of interesting facts which support a lot of the incriminating evidence which convicted Jeremy. It was very interesting and created good discussion.

Sadly it has come to my attention that it was not actually RB's diaries at all.

Lookout kindly informed me diaries are 'year by year'. Not day by day.

RB is apparently also homophobic and resented an adopted Jeremy.

Alias has also kindly informed me 'it was not a diary'.

April has kindly informed me that it was written just for the police and that you cannot include anything historic in a diary.

Grahame has kindly informed me that DB may have been suffering from early signs of memory loss.

What a pity the 20 'primary' sources of information I found in the diary cannot be used.

Perhaps Jeremy's supporters should not have created two threads and called them 'RB's diaries'.

My apologies for suggesting RB's diary supports several important issues.

My parents always taught me sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

I am sure if you read RB 1991 COLP interview and Annes they explain why they wrote the "notes"

April would ALSO like to put forward the possibility that it was the police who suggested that RWB began a "diary."  He seems not to have known the difference between a diary and a biography.

If they are not diaries, can I not still use what he said as a source ? After all he did say it.

But if I do, people can say RB just said them to help insinuate Jeremy to the police. Rather than what he said being put in his private diaries as his own personal thoughts.

You've got me snookered.

Very sneaky.

see my post - evidence.

And of course it was to incriminate  Jeremy - that was their whole point of all the visits to the police to complain. what else did they go for ? tea and cakes?

Thank you Jan. Now we all know.

So he typed them up after the event.

Nothing to apologise about. Other people called them diaries. Until I started quoting the content.

I call it a diary typed up after the event. RB seems to know the dates when things happened. Perhaps he was writing things down as they happened.

He still says 20 incriminating points. Which back up incriminating evidence. A treasure trove of 'primary' sources. But supporters will accuse them of all being lies.

It rather seems as if that's EXACTLY what he did and what he says about it is HIGHLY revealing and backs up what I've said previously about how it tells us FULLY what always have been his feelings about Jeremy. It seems he may have been shocked by some of the things he said. An exercise in catharsis, perhaps.

Because it was always obvious to me that they weren't diaries, other than referring to them with inverts, I've never called them such.

So now you are not apologising? Changed your mind?

We are not saying they are all lies - they are his opinion of JB - but a person is not tried on their character - and they are definitely not tried for murder because they are gay or dye their hair.

He had made up his mind from the beginning - so you obviously think he is a hero .

But perhaps not.

If it turns out JB is innocent I think you will look at his "notes" in a different light.

He seems to be intentionally cluttering up the forum with random posts

People quoted in RB's alleged diary:

David
Ann
Anthony.
Jean
Basil.
Peter
Jeremy.
John Seabrook.
Leonard.
Doug Moule.
Miller.
Jim Carr.
Brett.
Jean Barwell.
Jones.
Jim ?
Stewart Sinclair.
Dr Ellis.
Barlow.
Freddie.
Colin.
Smith.
Julie.
Peter Simpson.

If it was all lies, he's leaving himself open. Anyone of the above could refute it.

All seems above board to me. Dates are put down. A lot of it is what he said, did, where he went, what people said to him, what he thought.

It can't really be disputed. And a lot of it backs up other evidence. But appreciate supporters now they realise how damaging it is will attempt to discredit it.

Mugford's so called diaries were also written after the event. But we must keep these things in context. We must accept them for what they are, one person's beliefs typed up specifically to show how he thought Bamber to be guilty. They are not any kind of source to be used to back up our own beliefs. On the contrary they are what they are meant to be. A biased account of of one man's views.

At that stage, it must have felt like a gift from the Gods. At that stage, whilst he may have suspected Jeremy's guilt - dreamed of it, PRAYED for it - he had no way of knowing it, but I guess he thought his opinions were worth recording.
