After consideration, I believe that RB's diaries are a valid 'primary' source.

They were put in the archives and two supporters created threads on it's contents. Happy to discuss it as a reliable source.

To then claim they are unreliable after the diary content is looked at more deeply and highlights guilt,  is inappropriate.

The police suggested he write this up. Which he did, putting dates and giving over 20 sources. It was completed before his court witness statement. So the police can check all his sources.

The twenty points which incriminate Jeremy are facts and opinions which relate to other facts and opinions in the case.

I look forward to quoting RB in future but appreciate supporters will try to discredit his diaries.

His diary served the same function as Ann's notes. So it can be used for the same purposes as her notes and likewise shares the same limitations that apply to her notes.

Hmm. Good concise answer.

I can quite understand them making notes in that they were annoyed with the police operation . I don't have a problem with that .However I do find the personal comments about JB very uncomfortable. And irrelevant.

I agree, both Ann Eaton's notes and RWB's notes are laced together by hate for JB.

Ann Eaton couldn´t have been annoyed with the police the very morning/noon of the murders. She started taking notes from the very start when she came over to Jeremy´s cottage.

I have always wondered if she brought her own little notepad (or little cards I think) or she nicked one at Jeremy´s.

That's not necessarily a good thing for those who want to say the notes were created as lies to be used against Jeremy.  That would be a sign they were created for personal use and so no need to hide their feelings and no need to lie in such notes.

They still could have been mistaken in what they wrote but if they were writing them to give to others to use as evidence they would not want to include commentary on their dislike.

Historians like to look for signs in recollections of whether they were created for personal use or with an eye towards being provided to the public because there is a reason to lie if you have an eye towards public release.

They may not have WANTED to include commentary on their dislike (of both Sheila AND Jeremy) but they did it none the less -loud and clear.

I wonder if they'd have written the same crap if both had been blood relatives ?

They probably would not have begrudged the Bamber children their private schooling and other things. Never heard such a thing! None of THEIR business what June and Nevill did for THEIR children :o

Maybe you've forgotten about Patti's post.

Mr & Mrs Bamber and the children of Sheila have living relatives who may read this forum. It can be hurtful to them when poster are referring to them.  Please be more sensitive when you are discussing them.

Times are changing on the internet and rightly so. There is a major clamp down on undignified attacks, abuse and bullying. Any poster that says anything bad about the families concerned will find there posts censored or removed.

If you feel strongly that a poster has done this then please press the report button.  If you wish to contact admin or mods please copy us all in so that we are all aware of the situation.

Thanks.

Have you bothered looking back at others posts who say worse ?

Then again, you can't help having a pop at me,can you ? It must make your day when I speak out of turn.

Remind me to keep" pressing " the report button every time that Jeremy's name is blackened.

I don't think Jeremy's name can be blackened beyond convicted child killer.  :-\
