Then of course, there are the pair of blue leggings hanging over the bannister at the top of the stairs - still wet by 10 am the following morning, Now, somebody had to have hand washed those, and because June and Ralph were too busy getting themselves killed, they surely would not have had time to hand wash clothing, so that leaves Sheila. If she hand washed the wet looking blue leggings, then here was an ideal opportunity to wash away lead deposits on her fingers from the reloading of the rifles ammunition magazine.,,

Of course, SOMEBODY washed them. How about the housekeeper/daily help? The question is WHEN. Unless there is comprehensive proof that the leggings were ACTUALLY wet, the hand washed(?) wet LOOKING leggings would have been hanging there for an indeterminate time and would probably have stayed there until A. they were worn again or B. someone got fed up with them being there.

Look at the image in question, only the legs are wet, and the house keeper had not washed them at all, otherwise they would have been dried by 10am the following morning...

From various tests I carried out the water mark in the leg of the leggings would have evaporated after 4 to 5 hours, depending upon the temperature in the farmhouse...

Those wet leggings are one of the best  clues yet that somebody was still very much alive inside the farmhouse between 5 and 6am. This very interesting also because at around 5.30am what with Jeremy away tp the local village pay phone in the company of a uniformed police officer at which time Jeremy spoke with Julie Mugford, firearms officers back at the scene , were presently engaged in conversation with someone from inside the farm - a person who could not possibly have been a reference to Jeremy because at the material time he was not present at the farm at that time. Neither was he in the company of any fire firearms officers...

Additionally, with Jeremy away from the scene for a good 35 minutes, this enabled police at the farmhouse to step up thier efforts to get some sort of dialogue with the occupants in an attempt to distract them so that equipment could be deployed. It was use if an extended mirror device whi h had been offered up to the outside of the main bedroom window, that the body of June Bamber was spotted laying alongside the edge of the bed. Also noted were spots of blood all over the bedroom carpet. These discoveries are qhich led to two ambulances were summoned to the scene..

The watermark on ANYTHING is not proof of recent washing. All it says is, that at SOME point, part, as opposed to the whole garment, has been washed. The watermark will remain until the whole item is washed.

I can say with TOTAL certainty that whatever the garment hanging over the banister rail was designed for, it was NOT designed to go with the nightdresses worn by either June or Sheila. Not EVEN if the garment was a pair of PJ bottoms would they have been designed to go with cotton lawn knee length nightdresses. Most YOUNG women -and here, I certainly excluding June- wore leggings of all colours during the day. They certainly didn't sleep in them.

  • What is in those 200 boxes?
Here. Personally I think it is impossible to tell whether they are partly wet. I would think that if they were somewhat moist, they would not dry up so evenly (sharp edge between the colour difference). I suspect that the colour difference is in the fabric.
Perhaps someone can conduct the experiment Mike is talking about he did and post photos of it?

Alias I agree had the garment been damp it would show up with darker shades on the garment. Looks dry to me.

I wouldn't even like to swear that they're leggings. The leg texture looks very much finer that the "knicker" part which makes me wonder if they are a pair of pale blue tights. Sheila was known to have been wearing a dress at some point because AE kept it.

I thought the only difference between tights and leggings was that leggings have no "feet".

Here is an example of the kind of tights I was talking about, difference in colour is due to difference in the fabric. Those here are not wet....

Correct, and leggings come in calf or ankle length. Personally, from the picture of the garment hanging over the banister, I don't think it's possible to state with 100% accuracy that they're leggings because the over all length isn't clear and that may be about the fineness of the denier. What I do feel certain of is that it ISN'T a sleep garment.

Most people are unaware of such fine distinction and use the terms interchangeably- especially men but some women as well.  I never heard of such distinction before but I am a guy who doesn't wear women's clothing and has no interest in women's clothing so...
