Can anyone explain why there appears to be nothing inside the gun cupboard on crime scene photograph 6?

I thought there were boxes of ammo, guns and moderator inside this cupboard?

I think you set me off 

At first I thought it might have been taken in 1991 when the police visited the house, but on looking further I noticed that the same gun was behind the door, the same palstic box on the floor and the same chair with the same cushion on it. 

I wonder if the cupboard went further back round the corner?  But looking at the entrance where you can see the settle there appears to be something like a large ottoman or box type thing on the back of the wall.....I'll nip and fetch the photograph....

This is the entrance from the back kitchen as you can see the wall to your right backs on the cupboard.  You can just about see the settle.

This is from the back kitchen and the wall does not stick out and is backed by furniture.

It's an under the stairs cupboard, I have a similar (albeit much larger) cupboard and it runs the length of the stairs so you can't be sure the cupboard is empty. We also don't know if that is a crime scene picture, or one taken later? The photo posted further in this thread has a desk in front of the cupboard and looks more like a CS picture than this one and there are things in the cupboard in the later pic.

You can see the bulk head of the stairs raising in the center of the 2nd photograph, you can see it slope. There you can see the end of the cupboard, which  is in the 1st photograph because this is the foot of the stairs.

Crime scene photographs are taken 'before' things are removed/moved. When you move something - you change the scene. Surely this is where thr whole part of the 'contamination'  argument comes in?

The cupboard actually goes under the stairs and tapers towards the other end. So in effect we are only seeing half of the cupboard.

So what you are saying Mr Gee is that the cupboard tapers to the right hand side of the 1st photo? It can't taper that much because in the other photo there are things at the back of that wall.  Why would they put boxes etc round the corner of the cupboard which makes it awkward to reach when stuff is chucked all over the place in the rest of the rooms...for example the back staircase.  I just find it odd that there is nothing to see in the cupboard yet they felt the need to take a photo of an empty cupboard.  Now, I wonder if there is another shot of the cupboard showing the right of it....

Weren't there one or two guns in the downstairs toilet ? Supposedly 3 belonging to AP,so I read somewhere ?

The shotgun was found in one room by AE. It had Sheilas' fingerprints on it.
Then there was the one " in the window ".

I had a cupboard like that one and if we stashed something at the tapered end we would call it the back of the cupboard.

It appears as if they had emptied the cupboard in order to take the picture? There are what looks like a propagator and a fishing rod which look as if they've just been taken out of the cupboard.

This is the plan.....I'm not convinced that the cupboard was emptied in order to take the photo. Why would they do that? It seems pointless in my opinion.

I can see that it might taper to the right somewhat and we can't see that in the photo.......I have a similar one at home under my bulkhead.

Who wants to see an empty cupboard ? It tells you nothing at all.What we need to see is as it was and where this ere silencer was " hidden ".
