Oh OK, I've got Colin's book - do you know which page it's on?

It has to be another box of ammo though because Jeremy told them he emptied the ammo onto the counter top but, he didn't give a statement until the following day so how would they know to place it back on the counter top? And why bother?

There is something that does bug me a little though - if Jeremy was telling Julie about the murders, I wonder why EP didn't use her to extract some information; get him to admit something that only the killer could know? However, I think Jeremy may have fed Julie with a few red herrings so that her story would never fully check out (ie. the hit man). He might have told her something though and if guilty, forced a confession. I just find it strange that they didn't do that.

there would have   been  a few  things only the killer would know I would think - and this was before the days of a "honey trap" being illegal. I don't think she came up with anything that was not fed to the family or was in the papers.

Yes Lookout, there is a difference. He is either referring to a shell case OR the magazine, which was on the rifle. He's not talking about the box of ammo from the kitchen.

Even with JM's statement and the silencer, SJ was still not sure of a conviction so I cannot understand why he didn't make use of JM to try and force a confession?

Jan I have often wondered what Julie told Colin.  He does not say what it was in his book.

Julie was on a sympathy visit. Her own case of emotional blackmail.
