The police surgeon and the Coroners officer, were contacted about these two bodies which had been found downstiars at the scene...
The control room at police head quarters, contacted DC Hammersley (SOC), at 7:45am, informing him that police were dealing with an incident at whf involving a murder and a suicide, and that he should attend the officer immediately...
25 minutes later, another radio message was passed from the scene - a further three bodies had been found upstairs, and the building had been searched and was safe for senior officers who had been stationed in the forward control point situated in a nearby outbuilding, could enter the farmhouse...
By this stage (8:10am), five bodies had been found at the scene, two bodies downstairs and three bodies upstairs...
The two bodies which were found downstiars could only have been a reference to Ralph Bamber and Sheila Caffell...
Sheila was originally shot downstiars and wrongly presumed to be dead - shot by a gun which had a silencer fitted to its barrell...
Evidence of a circular mark which corresponds to the end of the silencer can be found around the non fatal bullet entry wound upon Sheila's neck...
