Alias he said Sheila hated her Mother and Colin resented her for the way she was with his twins but she loved them to bits just had a different idea on their upbringing than him.  He seemed to think Sheila was starved of love and affection from her .  I think June just did not show her love with hugs and kisses but did love her children but religion seemed to get in the way,

But Colin says that he beieves Jeremy to be guilty, yet he cannot judge him for what he did. Just sounds odd to me, when you consider Jeremy killed his children!
I find it hard to understand Colin.

I honestly feel that Colin was very unsure that it was Jeremy. Some of his remarks point in that direction. His first,as we all know " she's finally done it ". Then his sheer hatred towards June saying that he,himself could have killed her.
In the end,he literally " went with the flow ". But I'll bet he's had doubts over the years.

Vinegar is a marvellous cure-all. Pretty versatile. My mother used to take it for sea-sickness.  ::)
Good for cleaning windows, and ketchup brings the silver up.

' She has gone very much higher than that in fact and is a Director and one of the top ten highest earners within the Manitoba Schools Division.  She has the potential to go much higher too '

I did not know about the above. She certainly did not go looking for another Jeremy to live off after the trial. Then again while she was with Jeremy she was living in shared digs, studying to be a teacher. After turning down June's offer to buy her a property.

That depends if you've swallowed any silver. :)

I do feel very sorry for Julie. Getting caught up in Jeremy's evil scheming.

She loved him and did not believe his plans.

Then she was suddenly whisked over to WHF at 5am. Told lies about MM and then whisked off to Amsterdam, deluxe hotels and champagne funerals.

Suddenly the man she loved said he was involved in a 5X massacre. She was told he was 'watertight' & 'there is nothing she can do'.

It took a lot of bravery to approach the police. She did not have to. Being honest in her WS about putting a pillow over his head. Then taking it off. Ohhh.

Twenty nine years later, people still criticise her. From her and her mothers dresses at trial, to her post trial NOTW interview. Which is standard procedure.

She certainly did not lie at trial. She wasn't even jilted and as a 20 year old woman would never have the confidence to tell such serious lies for such a trivial reason.

Since the trial she has done very well. See above post.

That's fine Adam

you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. And in some ways I sincerely hope she did not lie or embellish the truth , because if she did and then it was discovered the silencer evidence is not what it seemed then she would have taken a mans freedom away.

But you have to remember you re assuming you know what her feelings were in those immediate days after the murder and unless you know her personally then that is still quite an assumption.

Excellent post Adam.  Julie simply didn't believe Jeremy and his murderous plans in the beginning, even when he phoned her after doing the dirty deed she wasn't impressed and told him to go back to bed.  In the end though she came to realise that her beloved was a monster and she had to tell someone which she did.  The rest is history.

Julie has excelled in her teaching career rising to the post of Executive Officer, attempts to demean her now 28 years on are quite pathetic really.

"everything is going well’ I then got into bed and laid there for a few minutes when I suddenly came to my senses and realised what he had said.

PAGE 13

In my view he was telling me they were all dead. I immediately got out of bed and I spoke to my friend Susan. I don’t know if she came into my room or we met on the landing. She was very cross and complained about Jeremy phoning at a stupid time. She asked me what was wrong as apparently I looked concerned. I told her that I didn’t know but there was something wrong at the farm.
She said again what was wrong. We then all went back to our beds. I have since spoken to Susan and I feel sure that she told me the time that Jeremy phoned was 3:12am.
I lay in bed but did not go to sleep as I knew that Jeremy had murdered his family

You know the answers.

She could not dial out from the phone.

Lewisham is not the sort of place to go out to look for phone boxes at that time.

She had no idea what was happening.

Jeremy said 'everything is going well'

It was not her family. Not her problem.

Jeremy had not asked her to call the police.

If the police were needed, Jeremy would have called them himself.

Because she didn't want to get involved naturally.
