He would have to disappear but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Forgive me, I'm confused. Several years ago two 9(?) year olds took someones's baby from a shopping mall and, for the joy of doing it, did things to him too unspeakable to say. I believe that they've both been released now, one of them, at one time, being returned to prison. Don't misunderstand me, I REALLY don't know what else COULD have been done with them. The judicial system says they must be given a second chance, but just how deeply ingrained are those childhood fantasies? Can these two young men truly be trusted. The stress they must have to deal with on a daily basis -never revealing who they are, having to tell lies about their pasts, HAVING no pasts, being someone other than who they are, the memory of what they were responsible for- will be intolerable. What will happen when it becomes too much of a burden? Still, they've been given more than they left their victim with.

WOULD Jeremy, should he ever be released, be a danger to the public? He is said NOT to have killed for anything other than greed, whilst the two young men of whom I speak, killed for pleasure which IMO, makes it far more likely that one or the other, at some point, perhaps during extreme stress will re offend. I don't think Jeremy would be as likely to.

april and the two that you talk about received quite a nice sum in compensation as their names were released.  One of them seems to have settled well but have doubts about the other one into pornography can you imagine what the little boys  Mother feels like she has been given a life sentence and not enough consideration has been given to her.  Colin seems to think Jeremy should never be released because he has some kind of mental issues the fact he could do what he did his words not mine.  I am not sure.

It's probably just as well these decisions aren't our responsibility. I don't think I'd ever get another night's sleep. :-[

Jeremy is probably not a danger to anyone, but of course, you never know.
If he committed those murders, I don´t believe that it was "only" for money, but as a reaction to years of dysfunction within the Bamber family.

Alias you may recall Colin thought Jeremy's act was due to reasons more than just greed for money some deep seated reasons for wanting to kill his family.

Yes, Colin doesn´t think the main motive was money.

P.S. want to add that Colin during the trial didn´t feel he could judge Jeremy. He might have killed June himself if Jeremy hadn´t done it! He really wrote that!!!
I find it very strange. Of course he can judge Jeremy - he killed his children for crying out loud, not just June.
When I read that, I wondered whether he really feels that Jeremy is responsible, such an odd thing to let out!

But Colin says that he beieves Jeremy to be guilty, yet he cannot judge him for what he did. Just sounds odd to me, when you consider Jeremy killed his children!
I find it hard to understand Colin.

Alias to be honest I think at first Colin did think Sheila had carried out the murders and was like a brother to Jeremy.  Then he noticed strange behaviour from Jeremy especially over the nude photo's to be showing them Colin when his ex wife and children had been killed also the photo's that Jeremy said were much more revealing Jeremy took to Goldhanger and it was felt he did try to sell them or intended to do so.Colin did start to have doubts then when the police told him he was convinced. It was strange when he said he met with Julie and she told him stuff that to this day as never been published makes me wonder what that was about.  Think June was straight laced and Sheila and Jeremy did things to shock her and she got angry and Colin felt that June helped Sheila to become what she became with regard her illness.  I think Colin was convinced Jeremy was responsible and Jeremy did say he had evil thoughts and just could not help it that was the way he was.,

Alias may be Colin means he is in no position to judge anyone because his own behaviour left much to be desired.

No, he writes that if Jeremy hadn´t killed June, he might have killed her himself.

jansus that is a good idea because we can discuss what we each feel about Colin and how he saw things.

April I have a big issue with what you have written here.

If you really studied the case you are commenting on you would know those two children had a live of hell.  One in particular had never had a proper meal and there was untold violence

There is no excuse for what they did and probably no real hope of real rehabilitation
What do we do with these damaged children?
Some children never stand a chance in life when they are bought up with violence

The same with Robert Black who murdered children
He was bought up in a children's home and raped almost daily

He wouldn't have a clue what normal is

More money needs pumping in children's services to change this but I don't believe those two got off lightly because they never had a normal life and never will
