Paul Harrison aka Mason Doyle
« on: September 21, 2014, 12:45:PM »

I referred in a post yesterday to messages I had exchanged with Paul Harrison, the writer who has been a member here with the username Mason Doyle.  Apart from being personally offensive he made threats against the forum and against me personally.  He has continued to make threats in private communications.  I need to make it clear that we do not respond to threats and regard them as totally unacceptable.  The issue which was the subject of Paul Harrison's complaint was properly investigated and the facts fully and accurately presented here.  The thread concerned was then removed, as there was no point in continuing debate on the matter.

In view of his offensive comments and threats Paul Harrison/Mason Doyle has now been permanently banned from the forum.

I also advise Paul Harrison to be very careful what he says about me in the future.  Unlike him, I am familiar with the law relating to defamation.

I understand that Paul Harrison is also banned on the red forum, as a result of threats made to the owner there.  We finally have something in common.

The two messages he copied to me were PMs via the forum, not emails.  I accept that in his post he said you contacted him by email at Murder Archive, but that was incorrect.  If you wish you can contact me offline about this.

So can I, but being offensive and making threats is not an acceptable way of dealing with an issue.  In the past when he has raised issues with me I have dealt with them - for example the bizarre suggestion that he had died.

This whole episode has been manufactured by Jacki. Clearly MD/PH reacted very badly and irrationally and has rightly been dealt with accordingly.

I think what most people on the form are bewildered about, is the apparent lack of action against Jackie. Apologies if things have happened behind the scenes.

Jackie started the thread which led to this.  An investigation was carried out and the facts posted.  Jackie had to take the considerable flak which arose from that.  Jackie however did not threaten the forum.  That is a line which must not be crossed.

I would have dealt with this matter as quickly as possible, and effectively, without the need for offensive messages and threats.

That wasn't the point I was making.

I am sorry I do not get your point.

There are two issues.

1. Is the over reaction, threats and abuse you received from MD/PH. That appears to been dealt with quite appropriately.

2. Is Jackie's behaviour. She created and faked a scenario in an attempt to make out that Caroline had hacked in to her account to send PM's. I'm guessing that you are aware of that because you deleted Jackie's post referring to Caroline.

Out of these two linked but separate incidents, Jackie has yet again got off scot free. Unless something has happened behind the scene that people are unaware of, I think the majority of forum members are quite bewildered that no action 'appears' to have been taken against Jackie.

As far I can see - and some of it was hard to follow - Jackie stopped short of making that accusation directly against Caroline.   That is a good thing, because it would be a preposterous accusation to make and one which would have met with general ridicule I am sure.  I do not think Jackie has got off scot free.  She took quite a battering here yesterday.  I took the view that disciplinary action was not necessary on this occasion.  I have to confess that this was in part influenced by the fact that Paul Harrison twice demanded (not suggested or requested) that Jackie should be banned permanently.  Obviously I will not bow to such pressure so I made the decision with which clearly you disagree, but such is the lot of an admin/mod here.

I think there is a touch of hyperbole in your post.  Although some members will undoubtedly disagree with me, I very much doubt if the majority of forum members are "bewildered" at my decision.

I would hazard a guess that a good many forum members have been on the receiving end of Jackie's venom and threats which may explain any "bewilderment" on their part.

It seems to me that this whole episode has shown  Mason Doyle to be quite naive.

What did he expect when he joined this forum?

I noted that Caroline mentioned yesterday, that she and Mason Doyle were well familiar with each other.  Coupled with a remark that MD made yesterday about Jeremy being an alleged MoJ, it made me wonder whether Mason Doyle had helped, in some way, to change Caroline's mind about Jeremy's guilt.

Of course, I may well have put two and two together and come up with five!
