Neil, I'm not trying to achieve anything save airing an opinion to which I'm entitled but which it seems you don't share. My apologies if you think I'm making your job more difficult.

You are not exactly making it any easier are you?

MD does seem unsafe to have on the forum, the way he threatens legal action when anyone puts a post up that he doesn't like.

But Jackie faked up this whole thing - and hasn't recieved a ban. I don't think members will find that fair and sorry NGB but it appears that the only reason MD is banned and Jackie isn't is because MD attacked you whilst Jackie attacks almost everyone else on the forum.

As I have tried to explain Mat the difference was not between an attack on me and attacks on other members, it was the fact that threats were made against the forum itself and against me personally.  I exercised my judgement and I accept that some members do not agree with me, which is fair enough.  However, now that I have exercised my judgement I do not think it would be fair to bow to pressure from some, but not all, members and impose a ban now.  I accept that all members should be treated fairly and in an even handed way.  Future conduct by Jackie or any other member will be judged on its merits at the time.  As a mod/admin team we will do our best to reach fair and consistent decisions.  Obviously we will have to take on board the comments which have been made here.

It seems to me that this whole episode has shown  Mason Doyle to be quite naive.

What did he expect when he joined this forum?

I noted that Caroline mentioned yesterday, that she and Mason Doyle were well familiar with each other.  Coupled with a remark that MD made yesterday about Jeremy being an alleged MoJ, it made me wonder whether Mason Doyle had helped, in some way, to change Caroline's mind about Jeremy's guilt.

Of course, I may well have put two and two together and come up with five!

Well then Neil, please wonder no more, I can quite categorically put paid to your notion that MD had anything to do with my change of heart on this case. I have NO IDEA what is in his book and I don't know him personally. My dealings with MD have simply been an exchange of ideas and I have ALWAYS found him to be an honest and honorable man. The attempt yesterday to discredit him on the forum was deliberate and the same person thought they would kill two birds with one stone by TRYING to implicate me and it back-fired. I agree that they were made to look pretty foolish and hopefully they have learned something because of it (although I doubt it). I have no idea what exchanged between Paul and NGB but I am grateful to Paul for alerting me to the attempt of a member to involve me in their little game and to NGB who removed the posts as soon as I brought them to his attention. Two and two Neil, is always four!  ;)

She tried to discredit two people deliberately and I hear this isn't the first time she has done this kind of thing. Had you been the one she tried to discredit, I'm sure she'd have been long gone. I'm not asking for her to be banned - if she had any kind of scruples, she'd have left of her own accord. Finally, I agree it is wrong (usually) to discuss members on the open forum but Jackie sought to do that yesterday to others and so really shouldn't expect anything less.

Like you did on numerous occasions, each time saying you wouldn't be back?

Where are your scruples?

From what I witnessed yesterday you and April appear to have decided between yourselves to 'resign' from the forum in the hope of causing grief for others.

On a good note: I'm glad to see Susan back to her jokey self  :) :) - apparently she was devastated you'd left yesterday

Why not have a trial run Susie. You seem to have too much time on your hands, would probably do you the world of good :) :) :)

Good to see the Scots decided to remain united with the rest of us :D

Steph do you think I should go for the Mod position or are you just having me on.  I am delighted the Scots went for the No vote the only sensible way to go.
