I would just like to comment on Adams first post. My father and my grandfather were farmers both from and early age. My father worked 6 days a week , minimum of 10 -12 hours a day in all weathers and never in his working life earnt more that £70 per week. And he went out in all weathers every day .
And he loved it and so did my grandfather.
Jeremy was relatively well paid and had share in two business at a young age .
sometimes I wonder if you don't think about what you post or just do it for affect.
It may not have been cool for him to like farming - but as I said before he was not a slave , he could have just left.
Yes I do think about my threads and posts thanks.
What you're relatives liked is neither here or there.
He could not walk away. He tried that but had no qualifications or specific skills to get the finances to live the high life. He was not going to be financed for more jaunts abroad. He said in court Neville's will tied him to the farm in order to inherit. Julie confirming this in her WS.
His money was not great for someone working long hours. In fact the long hours were probably just as much of an issue. No time or energy to wear nice suits.
The perks may have been reduced. Neville complained to BW about how much Jeremy and Sheila were costing. Jeremy's WS saying there were discussions about Sheila moving into his cottage. Which he had just spent over £1,000 furnishing. Oh dear.
