Apparently suffered from depression - seems to be a common theme with comedians. So sad, loved he was brilliant!!

Yes, sadly that is the flip side of the coin with many comedians.
Just so sad. Have to try to sleep - will be hard now.

It's sad, but obviously off-topic for this part of the forum. He wasn't particularly impressive as a comedian (except for his stand-up work, which wasn't particularly well-known in the UK), and presumably didn't write the scripts for his comedy roles. His Oscar was for his acting.

He was one of the most,if not THE most generous givers to charity. A lovely natured man. He'll be missed.

You're speaking about someone entirely other than the character I know.

It is. I know that most people think he was a brilliant comedian, but personally I think he was a brilliant ACTOR. I like him best in the more "serious" and even sinister roles.
Just goes to show how versatile he was. He was a living legend, and at the same time, you could sense what a sweet person he was.

Poor man,I think he did the comedy parts to cheer himself up.Aww.
