It looks like it says "by her right side" to me. That's interesting.

Hadn't Dr Craig left the house by that time? He said he went in with Harris at about 8.35 and was outside by about 8.50.

Not sure about those times though.

"daughter with .22 rifle by her right side"

that is very different from it being "on" her at all.

That's definitely the wording, followed by "Appears gunshot wounds to neck".

Miller seems unclear in regards to Ralph.
his writing is rather bad.
at one time he has Ralph slumped on a seat in some fashion or other but also seems to have Ralph's head on the floor.

If indeed Ralph's head was on the floor and not in the coal scuttle it does lend to his body being staged by the police after Miller left the scene.

If Ralph was toppled from his chair onto the floor his head would make contact with the flat floor rather than with the edge of the coal scuttle. The pathologist reports no damage on Ralph from falling onto a coal scuttle contrary to what would be expected. We would expect different and less damage if Ralph fell against a flat surface as the impact would be spread out rather than concentrated like it would be from the edge of the coal scuttle.

Agree on that...definitely states "wounds" and not "wound".

Mike, you mean this was on here all along?  My apologies.  I must have asked for this about 20 times.

Woodcock agrees in his statement that he took Miller around the house..but Miller does not mention Cook and Stan Jones also going round the house on the same tour.
So that should have all 4 reporting the same thing or seeing the same as Miller.

Miller's description of where Sheila's body was
"In same room far side of bed" is open to 2 different interpretations.
He could mean she was on the floor or  could mean she was on the bed.

Could it also say "by her right shoulder"?

no...his odd writing style can be worked out and it says side.

The issue of the bed...does he mean "on" it or "on" the floor.
If Sheila was on the bed then in such a position he would need to say whether the rifle was on her left side or right side...to distinguish it and make things clear. It would be unsatisfactory to leave it as plain "by her side".

However if Sheila was on the floor as in the released photographs then he would not need to distinguish with by her right side as the bed automatically ruled out the rifle being on her left side. In such a situation he would not need to clarify anything other than the rifle was "by her side" as this could automatically be deduced by default.

With such an argument it adds a little weight to her being on the bed and supports that interpretation better than an on the floor interpretation.
