Yes  Alias. Gerry Conlon was one of the Guilford 4 who were accused and found guilty of planting bombs in Guilford during the bombing campaign in England by the IRA.  They were imprisoned for 15 years before they were declared innocent and released from prison.  There was never any evidence that any of the Guilford 4 had ever been connected to the IRA. Their only sin was that they were Irish.

Thankyou for putting that on,Maggie. I remember when Gerrys' sad news was broadcast and felt so sorry for all the lost years of INJUSTICE that he'd suffered. Poor man was only 60. At least he did have some time with his family thank goodness.
This is where I fear for Jeremy as the years go by. Imagine dying suddenly only to be told after that there'd been a huge mistake ? I can't think of anything worse.

Hello Maggie and Tony Blair apologised publicly to the Guildford 4 for one of the worst MOJ's ever they had suffered. Thanks to Gerry for all the good work he did after his release for other MOJ's his family should be proud of him.  R.I.P.

I know  Lookout and apparently the judge at their trial said he was sorry they weren't tried for treason because back then the death penalty still stood for treason and he would have sentenced them to death in that situation.  This is where the death penalty is totally wrong and one reason why I could never support it.

Yet I support the death penalty,,but alas,it takes brains to get the right man,and sadly it would appear that brains are lacking within this justice system of ours as well as most government ministers too.

Poor Susan May didn't enjoy her bit of freedom either. Her appeal is still going on,as is Eddie Gilfoyles' after nearly 4 years. It's truly shocking and sickening. You can't begin to think how the families of these people feel.
