Jeremy claims he entered WHF after the murders to get documentation for his holidays. Why were these documents at WHF ? He had not lived there for a long time.

Perhaps Jeremy realised it was clean up time.

Eh?  ;D ;D ;D ;D - you mean 'after' the police had cleaned up, the relatives had their turn and there was nothing left? Yeah, that would be a cunning plan Baldrick!! Perhaps it was kept with other family documents in the safe, maybe like most people of his age he was useless at keeping things where he could find them, maybe, maybe, maybe ....... who the hell knows!!

Hi curiousessex  sorry I did not know that but he did have the keys so he could have entered by the door if he had not left them behind.  I have read how he was removing valuables from the house to sell in London so I am surprised nobody put a stop to that such as the relatives who would know he did not own the house.  How strange is all this.  The police had to ask his permission to burn carpets etc from the house they must have thought he owned the lot.

Surely there's a particularly difficult legal problem here. If WHF wasn't Jeremy's, surely nor was the Goldhanger cottage because it was farm property. It appears, therefore, that Jeremy, under the terms of the will is required to farm the land but has no legal entitlement to live there so effectively, he would have been homeless. Now, if WHF didn't belong to Jeremy, why did the police give him the keys?  Assuming that the contents were Jeremy's what right did the rellies have to remove things?

The judge did not say that.

I think you'll find he did.

Susan, I am afraid the property was not Jeremy's to gain entry to.

Jeremy was not entering his own property by a window. Jeremy was entering a property which did not belong to him.  FACT

I guess in essence you're right(as the property was rented/leased) but as the next of kin to Neville he would have had a right to sort out his families affairs and that would mean having rightful access.

Who does know indeed ?

Did Jeremy know the silencer had been taken & was with the police ? He had not been arrested & was about to go on holiday. So still confident he was water tight.

Perhaps it was collection time after deciding leaving it in the gun cupboard was risky.

Yeah right. The judge is going to say only two people could have commited the crime. And it wasn't Sheila.

I will read his summing up soon.

Why would he care? It wasn't used!!

Hi curiousessex  many thanks for your detailed explanation.  In my ignorance I assumed obviously incorrectly that the tenancy from the Trust would automatically pass to the next of kin i.e. Jeremy and it would appear it passed to the now next of kin Ann Eaton.  Quite confusing. Wonder if Jeremy is ever released will the tenancy pass back to him from the Trust.
