Who didn't have fake watches in the eighty's? I had a "Gucci" one. Once the battery had ran out,there was no way of removing the back of the watch so as to replace it. It was sealed shut! They were the days! Lol. Welcome to the forum anglosaxon.

Anglosaxon, good morning and welcome. I'm beginning to see that Jeremy and Brett must have been drawn to each other like moths to flame. It sounds as if each had something the other craved. I can see Jeremy yearning to be more like Brett, all charm, frivolity, in your face bling, total disregard for convention, no restraints. Brett, on the other hand, would, I imagine, have liked some of Jeremy's innate assurance which comes from always being cushioned by wealth, his ability to command deference which would have come from his background and education. I think it was a case of opposites attract. I think they formed a strong, if transient, bond. I don't believe either was QUITE what the other thought and I think they were as bad for each other as they were good for each other.

I would have thought they both needed each other for different reasons Brett was a new character to Jeremy but I am sure Jeremy would have got bored wth him given time he was maybe a novelty.  I am sure Brett was a nice guy and I can imagine just what he was like. The mysterious feather probably came from him.   Wonder if they kept in touch after the trial.

Susan HELLO I see Brett as a great guy, always good for a laugh, up for whatever's going, fun personified, However, I'm also of the opinion that he wasn't big on commitment and at the first sign of trouble he wouldn't be seen for dust.

no idea   but i have been told he died of aids in the late 90s    and then again ive been told he came back to nz and was selling cars, well kinda cars,  it was importing car parts and then paying some young boguns a few dollars to put them together again to form a car.  i dont know but this is what i was told and he had a bit of trouble with the authorities over that

I'm sure this guy had a porn site. Bit of a lad,he is/was,,as most gays,they are very extrovert.
Because Jeremy had a somewhat sheltered life,,he'd have seen Brett as someone who could talk the talk and liven up any conversation. He was the life and soul who brought Jeremy " out of himself ",and I'm sure Jeremy would have been tickled pink at having a gay friend much to the annoyance of everyone.
Brett did not believe that Jeremy carried out the murders,nor did he think he was capable of doing so,,and at the time he'd offered his services in saying so, to the powers that be,,but not sure if it fell on deaf ears or not,like a lot of other testimonials did.
When you have cops going from door to door telling everyone that Jeremy murdered his family,,what chance does anyone stand ? They're going to believe the law and not the poor soul who's pleading his innocence.
