Grahame just Googled Freemasons and it appears that RC's are not allowed to be Masons in Scotland anyway from reading the article not sure if the objection comes from the Catholic Church or the Masonic Lodge so I give up.  Hope they know the former Pope is a Catholic ;D Think you can get special permission from your church to join.

i think its from the church i dont think the masons have ever made such a rule.

though in Scotland masonry has bit of a sectarian thing in the past.

it has been in liverpool as well.

Hi nugnug  you are right it is the Catholic Church in Scotland that do not allowed their members to become Masons but think you can get this lifted if you apply to the Church must admit where I live not many Catholics anyway.
