Why was Nevill in fear of his life in June / July 1985?
« on: March 12, 2011, 09:55:AM »
The farm secretary has stated that Nevill was in fear of his life in the months before the murders and had a conversation with her along the lines "if anything should happen to me" but he did not want to "burden" her with the detail of his problems by stating it wouldn't be fair to do so.  She stated that he was very down and appeared worried about something like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Surely there is a clue or some pointers in this? Who had he upset / why was in fear of his life? Had a business arrangement / deal caused someone to threaten him. Probably linked to money and land in some way.

Perhaps this was threat was linked to the panic button he'd had installed due to being threatened as a result of his work as magistrate? I don't know anything about this panic button or threat - would like to know more.

I would think Nevill is likely to have been worried about his children and grandchildren because:

1. worry is part of the job description of grand/parenthood
2  Both Jeremy and Sheila had been behaving in a manner which would have worried most parents
3. Sheila's schizophrenia was worsening
4. Nevill might have been concerned that Sheila wasn't well enough to look after the boys
5  June may have had ongoing mental health issues since hospitalisation, the above would have put her
    under further pressure
6.  Nevill may have blamed himself for the above
