Even more reason to suspect that Nevill never reached a telephone that morning. Jeremy chased him downstairs, he had run out of bullets. He hit Neville as hard as possible with the rifle butt. This injured Neville further. There was no going back now & a fired up Jeremy continued to brutally beat Neville until he no longer resisted.
