I'm beginning to have mixed feelings about the way this case has been handled. The people who had Maria could possibly be the only adults the child has known,,and therefore to have removed her at that point where seemingly she wasn't in any danger,,apart from neglect,,where you only have to look up and down our own country to see that,,,should have left her, pending any further enquiries into her background.
Instead of this,,the child has already been frightened out of her wits by having been taken from her familiar surrounds ( of any other she knows no different ) then to a hospital where she was examined ( scary for any child ),,then shortly she'll be moved again to a childrens home to await the outcome.
Meanwhile,,if her parents are ever traced,,it will mean yet another upheaval into more strange surrounds with yet more strange faces.
Regular checks should have been put in place to make sure that the child wasn't put to do any slave labour or any other work to include the exploitation of the child.
Mentally,,is she any better where she is.? Is there an interpretor who can tell us how she feels,,because at 5/6 years old, they'll know the difference between sad and happy.
What of the other 10 children who are there.?
