According to the evidence, the rifle / silencer was not test fired with control ammunition, until on and after 20th September 1985, but this is not strictly true, because evidence exists elsewhere that there was a much earlier test firing of the gun / silencer with control ammunition which was used to make comparison checks against marks found on crime scene ammunition...
Why did EP, the DPP / CPS, and the ballistic expert, choose to keep the unofficial test firing of the gun / silencer, and control ammunition, secret?
