We will probably never know now but I can assure you there was no accomplice.

He acted alone.

Maybe it was his? Maybe it belonged to a copper? Maybe it had been there for years? Who knows?

But what we now know for certain is; he did it. Alone.

He used a long pole to smash the window.

He climbed in and out of the window.

He was forensically aware, as the police stated at the time. The only evidence he left behind were fibres. Fibres from a pair of black mole skin trousers he had purchased from Tesco's earlier that day. He didn't mention the Zenith burglary to the police as he believed they may find fibres there also.

The Higham burglary was not linked. The knife was taken from the victims kitchen drawer.

If I recall it was already in the garden? It was collected by the CSI and listed as a police exhibit but it was never forensically tested. I think they thought the ornamental frog had been used?

I believe the pole was found in the neighbours garden.

You wouldn't have done. It probably wasn't believed to have been significant to the crime at the time but I can assure you it was an exhibit.
