We don't know whether Jeremy gave any indication that it was indeed himself who had entered the premises that night. Julie said in her statement Jeremy had the idea of wearing a mask, and Ann Eaton said that first morning Jeremy had black hair and a dark tan. It's possible if faced by a masked intruder you comply with that person's requests as Sheila was led like a lamb to the slaughter to her death. Jeremy couldn't leave Sheila in her own room as forensics might have been able to prove that she never left it that Wednesday morning. He also wanted to inculcate the Police with the religious element to the murders and suicide, and the Bible was kept in the master bedroom.

My post was in reply to Miss Bridget's theory about SC being awoken and venturing into her parents' room with NB and JB downstairs in a power struggle over the gun.  If this was the case then imo SC would not have hung around nursing June.  She would imo have gone to the twins, attempted to get to a phone or another gun or some other instrument to hit JB with or fled.

I agree NN, if it wasn't Sheila then she is a bit of a mystery in all this.  Where was she when this was all going on?  Three adults against one gun man is an almost impossible task imo.  Only possible with precision shooting and there was little of that.  I know June had a shot between the eyes but this may have been chance.  Were was Sheila when the twins were shot?  No sign of her having been in their bedroom unless she was the killer.  There was a front door she could have got out of with or without the twins, it was a big house and the killer couldn't be in two places at once.??

But Jeremy denied ever having said many of these remarks discussed in this 2002 judgement. Had he said "Yes I loathed my parents but I knew which side my bread was buttered on" he would have had far more credibility.

As you have pointed out previously JB was a relentless tease as described by his headmaster at Gresham's.  You will recall from Claire Powell's book an incident at a wedding where JM enticed a guest outside and as she encouraged him to sit with her in a nearby secluded spot up pops JB  ;D ;D ;D  Guest obviously got more than he bargained for  ;D ;D ;D  SB states JB would wind her up about the drug squad raiding her home when JB was present with cannabis.  JB said things to wind-up/shock value.  To coin a favourite word of Bridget's 'context' ie need to know what went before and after, facial expressions, mood etc to accurately gauge these comments:

"I hate my fucking parents"

"I'm not sharing my money with my sister"

"Oh Uncle Bobby I could easily kill my parents"
