The black eye comment is from Ann's statement (recently posted - page 30)

You're right, She overhears JB mentioning it to police. Vanezis also mentions "bruising and swelling to the left eye" in the PM report.

So we couldn't be blamed for think that the reason she didn't go to the meeting was more about having a black/bruised eye than having house guests or Sheila having a period. Next question. How did she sustain the injury?

It's certainly possible. According to AE JB told police she told him she "hit a post". I guess we'll never know.

I guess we can only speculate but I do think it might be a reason for not attending the bible class and far more likely than recent offerings!!

Might be nothing more sinister than one of the twins hitting her with a toy.

  • What is in those 200 boxes?

Might also be sinister. It takes some force to get a black eye, but we can only speculate.
Jeremy said she had it prior to the murders - is he the only one (alive  :'( ) who saw it?

Alias, it's been speculated that Julie did it because June called her a "harlot" but I think that happened at the beginning of her relationship with Jeremy. Might it have been Sheila?

It could have been. When did Jeremy say he saw this black eye on June - not when did he say it, but when did he claim to see it? Did ANY other person talk about having seen it, for instance Barbara Wilson?

The pathologist saw it, and the fact that it was swollen surely means that it happened some time prior to death I think? That and the fact that JB mentions it is enough I think to say it was there, but how it happened is anyone's guess. Maybe she did indeed hit a post.

I don't suppose that there are any medical records pertaining to Junes' injury.? Anyone, particularly if elderly are usually checked for any underlying cause that was responsible for an injury,,rather than treating the injury itself. Because it was the eye area and if it had been a hefty bump,,and if sickness and nausea followed, then either a doctor would be called out,or a visit to the GP to be checked over would have been the norm. Unless of course the injury didn't want to be reported.
June would have felt unwell at the time.

Morning Susan,,always nice to see you too.x
It's usually youngsters with black eyes,,that you don't really take that much notice of,,as you assume that they've been in a fight,,,but when an elderly person has a black eye,it usually means that they've had a fall,,,so the reason of the fall then comes into play. Even if you" walk into something",,again,,in the elderly it usually signifies some problem.

Possibly only one person that would explain what had happened.
