Fatal Vision
« on: April 24, 2013, 03:49:PM »
One of the items sent to storage was a video tape of a TV Movie called 'Fatal Vision'

It was made in 1984.

It is a true story concerning a case in America which has some striking similarities to the Bamber case.

I wonder if this movie was shown on British television shortly before the murders and played any role in the murders? Did it provide inspiration or ideas?

Let's discuss!

Films are not shown the following year are they? Unless it was a film made for television and not for the cinema.  What time of the year in 1984 was it finished?  Is the film available to watch? I will google....

Vic there were many crime movies and thrillers out back then......Evil Dead being one of them and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre....

Boxing gloves are on sale at JJB....lol  :) :) :) :) :)

The clue is in the term 'TV Movie'.... lol

I believe it was shown a few weeks before the murders.

I am well aware of many crime movies, but not many with a 3.30am call to the police, informing them that someone was attacking his family, and he himself became the lead suspect. Slogans carved in wood, 'pigs' rather than 'I hate this place' and several other similarities...

Patti, I'm so pleased you've clarified the scratching of "I hate this place" It has been suggested on several occasions that Jeremy did it in between the shootings. I imagine that any carpenter worth his salt could say if it had been scratched recently or not.

Collins does not say who wrote it.. :-\

Just read a brief outline of this case and Charles Manson springs to mind....It was this that made me think of Manson...

(He describes also a girl in a big floppy hat, holding a candle, wearing boots, and saying, "Acid is groovy! Kill the pig!" ) :(

More than one way to skin a cat though Patti. I would imagine that whoever put thoughts/ideas into Jeremys' head,,,he would eventually open his mouth.Criminals don't very often " drop themselves in it ".

Vic on a serious note. To think that Jeremy was inspired by this movie is a bit outrageous in my opinion. There is no proof he ever watched it or that it influenced him...Its pure speculation!  :D :D :D :D

I am curious rather than accusing. It does seem strange that it was part of the storage items.

Patti,,it may well have influenced someone else though.! Jeremy must have been a pushover when it came to putting words into his mouth. He didn't get out often enough. ;D

Well it certainly doesn't fit with Mugford's assertion that he's been talking for a year about doing it.

One thing the killer in that movie is found guilty....If he had gotten away with it then I would have second thoughts...It's irrelevant that it was part of the storage. What storage and where is that documented...please... ;) :) :) :)

Hi Lookout :)

If Jeremy had planned the murders with a third party, then why did he not plan it at the weekend when he would have had more of an air tight alibi...for he would have been with JM...

Who are you meaning...MM.... :D :D :D :D
