Cool it Mat, Maggie thrived on being divisive and I can say with some certainty that she wouldn't give a toss about nugs opinion of her (which was, after all, one of her strengths ;))

Well that's for sure.

I think that being informed enough to state "I didn't like what this policy stood for" or caused, or her handling of certain issues is one thing. But to be so dim that you have to mock someones death and them being 'in hell' anonymoulsy on the internet - a bit sick.

If you can't see why HITLER And Saville are completely different than Thatcher then there are just no words for you.

Anyone see the gloits in Glasgow celebrating? They didnt  look old enough to remember when she was PM.
They got their mugs on the tv i suppose!

I didnt like what maggie did to the miners and working classes. But, she was a strong leader and didnt take any shit from anyone, absolutely fearless.

Well I agree, and when I first read some of the posts on this thread I was pretty shocked that people could speak ill of the dead in such a way even if they disagreed with her politics. But Maggie was in power at a time when some pretty major decisions had to be made and those decisions necessarily had real, and sometimes very adverse effects on people's lives. She is to be commended for being able to make those decisions despite the backlash she was inevitably going to receive, however you can't really expect the people affected by them to feel the same way. She lived her political life flying in the face of sensationalist opinion in order to do what she felt was right, and I'm sure she didn't expect anything different in death.

Was she? And did she? What is your evidence for that (other than sensationalist media).

pretty strong evidence i think if nothing incriminating was said in t those letters there would be no need to censer them.

There's plenty of reasons to censor private letters. Although I appreciate that any censorship will always stoke the fires of the conspiracy theorists.
