I'm afraid that Mike will not accept this timing
If that call lasted 11 minutes (as asserted by Mike) that takes us to 11.37
JB then spent 15 minutes apparently (again according to Mike's timing) to travel a distance of 3/4 miles - Mike appears to equivocate between JB driving at least part of that journey at a fast speed and him driving at a modest speed throughout the journey
However, 15 mins is a long time
Of course, without sight of an official document, I am not prepared to accept that that tel call lasted 11 minutes and again, in any event, you will know that I do not accept that JB received any tel call from "Dad"

If we are going to quote times and miles at least lets get that near on correct as possible by doing a simple google map search to identify the distance from Goldhanger to WHF.  Here are the results.  Therefore your suggested time of 15 minutes being to long had just flopped lol

Personally I can't see how the time is relevant? Surely if he wanted to get there later he would either have adjusted his phone call accordingly. Or stayed a bit longer in his house? He had lived in the area for years and obviously knew the time it took to travel back and forth from WHF? I rather think too much is being made of this whole timing business.

I have little doubt in my mind that JB has often pondered upon his mistakes and surely his biggest mistake was inventing the existence of the tel call from his "dad"
JB might have got away with it but for the difficulties created by that non-existent tel call
But JB  thought that he had concocted the master plan and that he was invincible
He was an arrogant, evil f..... and deserves to rot in hell

Jeremy didn't say that Ralf told him she had gone crazy WITH the gun. The quote is "Please come over, Your sister has gone crazy and has the gun" which is quite different.

He may also have wanted to delay getting to the farm first because he was AFRAID of what he might find or that he simply didn't know what he would do if he got there first. In unique and stressful situations people don't behave in ways you might expect, they are afraid of making a mistake and making the situation worse. Read up on the 'bystander effect'. Just because he didn't act in a way that 'you' think appropriate doesn't make his a killer!!

Agreed.  He may just be slow and sluggish first thing.  There are too many variables to draw any meaningful conclusions imo.

In any event as JB supposedly told Julie in the 10pm ish call "Tonights the night" why would he then phone her at 3am ish knowing that the phone was situated on the landing and that the ringing was likely to have awoken all the other students just to let her know that all had gone to plan? 

I can't recall whose suggestion it was to phone JM at 5am ish, JB or EP?  EP I think?

What would be the purpose of the call other than wanting to discuss with somone close the nature of  what was a very puzzling telephone conversation.  It wasn't going to act as an alibi.

And that's you 'opinion' which you are entitled to. What I don't understand is - as JB is serving a whole life tariff or as you so eloquently put it "rotting in hell" - why are you here? You have exactly what you want so why the fascination in the case?

I did a google search and got a distance of 3-4 miles- however, I'm quite prepared to accept your distances are more accurate
That said, we'd surely agree that JB would be expected to take the shorter route and, of course, there would have been very little, if any, traffic on the road at that time of night.
I'm not sure of the configuration of the route but I'd like to think that I would have covered the distance in about 5 mins
