Caroline, I've just read it in Wilkes' book. I THINK she said it in court. Having read how her story took on a life of its own, I started to wonder about histrionic personality disorder. I made interesting reading. I knew someone with it. Invererate liar. Had to be centre of attention at all times. Oversexualized everything she could. Made mountains out of nothing. It was ages before I realized what was wrong about her. The worst thing was how convincing she was.

Hi April, I think I have mentioned it before but I also know someone like that. Lies about everything and can be very vindictive. We have come to the same conclusion!!  ;)

Julie was a Northerner who had to find her feet quickly in the new Thatcherite Britain she found herself cast into in the 1980s. She never had a lazy bone in her body and juggled career and fussing around Jeremy in a way I could never have managed. She was dazzled by Jeremy's charms and later his family's wealth as she looked over Carbonells Farm from the top of a double decker bus.

Unbeknownst to her it was Jeremy who was using this unsophisticated Northern girl for his own ends in bouncing his evil ideas off her in attempting to do away with his family. Julie forbore from restraining him in the way that she should have, hoping that this was just a phase in Jeremy's life he would grow out of. She found herself caught up in a maelstrom of emotion from which she did well to extricate herself. As a whole I can't blame Julie for Jeremy's actions and it would have been heartless not to give her another chance to start a new life in a foreign clime, where she has rendered a good account of herself and put the past behind her.

I find it hilarious that most who think Jeremy is guilty look at Julie Mugford through rose coloured glasses. I guess they have to, since they need to believe every word she said to justify Jeremy´s guilt. I always find it a bit amusing!  8)

Maybe I should rather have said: because the majority of the case against Jeremy was Julie´s well rehearsed testimony, you have to convince yourself she was a super girl.  ;)

Steve, you are quite correct in your suggestion that Julie was impressed by the collective Bambers and their way of life. I believe it was something she dreamed of being a part of and she adjusted her behaviour accordingly to try and fit in. However, I don't believe she was as naive as you think and I would be prepared to swear that, had Jeremy asked her to marry him, she would have jumped at the chance, irrelevant of what she believed he had done. An "unsophisticated Northern girl" would have shied away from having her private life and her legs displayed across the most salacious publication in England. It's very possible that Julie enjoyed being centre stage. I wish you a very Good Night :)

Not everyone Alias, "No one considered that her evidence alone convicted Bamber. I for one think also the jury thought julie not to be a credible witness?

I'd have liked to have seen Julies' face had it been a not guilty verdict. That would have put paid to the NOTW bribe. Everything rested on it being a guilty verdict,,and it stank.

I kind of understand June´s resentment towards Julie - what kind of a girl does a thing like that. Five dead people and you pose suggestively for money in a rag mag. Eww

I certainly understood Junes' resentment towards the hard-faced,scheming woman. Greedy,,an actress and didn't care whose toes she trod on in getting what she wanted. No thanks.

Found it. She was a key witness," McKay said, though he emphasized, No one considered that her evidence alone convicted Bamber.
