Caught in a lie
« on: February 18, 2013, 02:26:PM »
I went to Radcliffes the other day, and spoke to the man who sold the .22 He informed me that he did NOT zero the rifle
Merely fitted the telescopic sights.
He told me that he had no facilities to zero weapons,
He was also not called to give evidence.

Out of curiosity, what was the name of the chap you spoke to?

Is it not possible that Ralph or Jeremy zeroed the rifle themselves?  I would be suprised if at least one of them at WHF, did not know how to zero a rifle.

Hi Buddy, what does this mean..... :) :) :) :)

If the sight wasn't zeroed then Pargeter's testimony that it would never have been removed because it is  difficult to set is kind of moot! If it wasn't zeroed, why bother to keep it on? Interesting info Buddy!!

Thank you Caroline. I thought I would have to ask a third time, but still none the wiser...lol  Do you mean the sights were not sighted to the rifle as in visually?  :-\ :) :) :)

Yes, from what I can gather (although I'm no expert), the sights are set for each individuals needs. Pargeter said that the sights would have been set for JB (or Neville's) use and that once removed, it's difficult to reset them. If they were never set in the first place then why keep them on?

I wonder if the same applies to binoculars?  Because I could never use my ex husbands.  I shall have to ask him...

I never used sights when I used a rifle, I used the rifles sights.  I do remember that I could not see through them correctly and found them to be blurred...

Buddy is a darling if he has this right..... :D :D :D :D :D

With binoculars you focus them with the fixed lens and then focus the adjustable lens.
