Yes, I agree, but proving the marks were made without the silencer, doesn't prove that the deaths occurred without it. If they can prove the wounds on Sheila's neck occurred without - that would be different and then proving how the marks were made would add weight. (IMO)
According to handwritten notes made by the ballistic expert, Malcolm Fletcher, after he had carried out experiments and examination in relation to the batch of crime scene ammunition, he states that he was unable to say if any of the 25 rounds fired during the shootings had been fired through a sound moderator - which when linked to the gouge type injury marks on Ralphs arm, and the burn marks with similar dimensions on the back of his neck, leads to the only relevant conclusion that a silencer was not fitted to the guns barrel at the time Ralph was being attacked. I do not think anyone would say that these gouge type marks on Ralphs arm were made after he had already been killed off, although there could be an argument for the burn marks on the back of his neck having been made after his death. Interestingly enough, it was DCI "Taff" Jones view, that the burn marks on the back of Ralphs neck were made when Sheila forced Ralph downstairs at the point of the gun to make the telephone call to Jeremy...
This leads on, to the matter and timing of Sheila's death, since if she was killed off after Ralph, why would anybody put the sound moderator back onto the barrel of the rifle, after the attack made on Ralph?
