But Jeremy along with other officers heard the dog from outside.........this also came about when they noticed a (so called) figure at the window...which was later described as 'being the light!'
I could never understand,,,that if Jeremy had been the murderer,,,why he wouldn't have shot a yapping dog first because of the outside attention it would/may have drawn.
I have a dear friend in which a member of her family suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, and who also has a little " yappy " dog who goes everywhere with this person and both are firmly attached to each other. The animal is a liability and will bite if you go within a foot of it,except for its master.
What I'm saying is that no matter what, neither Sheila, nor this person that I know, would harm the animal in any way,,but would surely harm a human,,of which I know,,both physically and mentally.
If that dog at WHF had been shot,,,then I'd have blamed Jeremy for the murders too,as those who are cruel to animals in any way,,are never to be trusted around humans. The exception in this case was Sheila, who felt that the dog was her only physical attachment which hadn't hurt her in any way,and that's why it wasn't harmed. What happened was that her very sick mind had taken over reality and killing an animal wasn't at the forefront of her mind.
Prior to the mid-seventies,before her mind became " mixed-up " Sheila would have been a clever, gentle soul,,but because of the continued indoctrination of religion from her mother, things started to break down,,,and relationships between Sheila and June deteriorated.
This is a pattern that I've got first hand experience of with my friend and member of her family. It's a very sad situation to see,,but this illness breaks up families.
