Hi lookout thanks for that I had forgot Ralph was on the chair when the police arrived more confused than ever now.  Why would anyone want to sit him in a chair unless he sank on the chair of his own accord.

Susan, there have been several explanations of how Nevill got to be in the chair. (1) He slumped into it as he died. (2) He was put there by whoever killed him and(3) He was put there by the police. Take your pick.

Susan I am glad you can't see the image, for it is not nice to look at. None of them are, but its necessary if you are debating it...sadly.   :( :( :(

I repeat Woodcock said the bottoms were around the knee area. If he Ralph had been dragged it is more than likely the bottoms would have come off completely.
It has yet to be explained how there was no signs of burning, or bullet holes in the said pyjama's.
Just to go a little further in this case. Hammersly collected, and took possession of 22 empty cases from the scene along with at least 4 full bullets making at least 26. We know that further ammo was found later. What's all this about?

Hi Andrea

I disagree with that if I may.  There is no evidence to support any dragging on the kitchen floor at all.  However, there is spatter and drips on the floor.  If Nevill had been dragged there would be trace evidence, there isn't any.  Plus he died is situ in a seated position, if you look at the photo in the archives his body is in a sitting position, even though it is slumped forward and his poor head is in the scuttle.  Looking more closely, the blood trails down the scuttle onto the floor, white tea shirt and trousers. Trace evidence is also on the cushions, which means that someone had sat on them, laid on them and transferred blood onto them.  Note the cushions where placed on top of the clothing and blood, so this could only have been the killer.  :-\ :-\ :-\

The pictures are not clear enough to say there are no trace of him being dragged, Patti.

No blood trails on the floor Andy.
Still to be reasoned by anyone [including me] is the lack of burn holes in the pj top, or hole in the sleeve where Ralph had obviously shot.
