Hi Susan

Don't think I'm his type  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'.  He thinks I'm dirty.  He prefers April1 and Caroline who he sees as efficient types akin to Babs Wilson.  I'm going to see if I can get on 'Ladette to Lady' to improve my chances  ;)

Anyway the mods are back now so I think we better stop all this otherwise we might get told off  :)

No NN, that's what I thought but he thinks we're enigmatic - :P

The figure I have was £436,000 after both sets of death duties had been paid. Jeremy loved farming so much he bummed around the Antipodes for two years and upon return to White House Farm got a job at a Little Chef just off the A10..

Hi Steve_uk

You told me you got the figure from Wilkes' book and that it stated 436k was the net figure.  The book makes no ref to net or gross.  Where do you get two sets of death duties from?  The estate would have been treated as a whole and the tax charged accordingly.

Why do you perceive the fact that Jeremy travelled around the Antipodes and worked at Little Chef before settling down on the farm negatively?  Please can you answer?

My partner has two law degrees.  However before he joined a firm to do his articles he bummed around as a motorbike messenger for a year.

Upon graduating I travelled around Europe with friends interrailing.  My then half English half Italian boyfriend found me a job as an au pair with an Italian family.  Through the family I then got a job as a chalet maid in a ski resort.  Had a ball for about 18 months until my dad told me times up and I got a 'proper job' and have had a 'proper job' ever since.

Millions of young adults all over the world take time out to 'find themselves', think about what they want to do long-term and have some fun before settling down.

Steve_uk I don't wish to sound rude but I do find your posts rather narrow and judgemental and I cannot help but think that it was this sort of mentality that convicted Jeremy rather than any 'firm evidence'.

N/N  never mind you can't win em all you have Roch and Mat what more do you want you greedy Nun :)

Hi Susan

Pssst I would like to conquer NGB as he appears more of a challenge  ;)  I like the strong silent types  :P  Vidic sound nice too but don't think he likes me as I don't share his views on Jeremy.

Anyway seriously I think we should start up a thread in off-topic for the silly banter otherwise we risk bringing the forum into disrepute and/or alienating those who just wish to debate the case  :)

I'm off to do some Crimbo shopping.

Hello lookout  cannot imagine anyone leaving Haworth to go and live in Long Island.  Maybe if he is not too old he will come back to his Yorkshire roots.

Susan,he actually went to work for Jimi Hendrix. Before the farming,he'd worked for all manner of pop artists, too many to mention, though he was with the Who in the 60's,had the farming break then went to settle in the States. He's 67 now.

Susan, my farming friends, who all have sons around Jeremy's age, allowed the boys time out after Cirencester to do their own thing and sow wild oats as far from home as possible, before settling down to more serious stuff. I assumed it was normal behaviour.

Hi april  what Jeremy did appeared quite the norm to me nothing sinister in his wanting to spread his wings before returning to the farm to take the job seriously.
