It is nice to confidentally feel that way and I do too. However, the undeniable facts are that some women for various reasons fail to call in the police. The Ian Huntley, Moors Murders, Rose West and numerous others show this to be the case.
It is well recorded that many women stand by while their children are abused and tolerate all manner of criminal behaviour. I would firmly say I would not tolerate it now and hope I would have the strength of character when I was less than half my age to do the right thing.
I am not making excuses for JM but neither do I find it unbeliveable that she could find it difficult to act immediately. I do not know her and she is not the sort of person I would ever want to know. The police probably do know a lot more and that is probably where the Public Immunity Issues come in.
