Yes, it is too convenient.  You cant clearly remember one thing but clearly forget another, unless you are trying to hide something IMO.  To be honest I dont think he was drunk, or his excuse that he ran her over.

I just wish she could be found and recieve a proper burial.

That's true. He may have been drinking in my opinion, but not that drunk as not to remember and as you rightly say you can't say you remember one thing then clearly forget the other....He is guilty and I hope he rots...for what he has done. I can't see any barrister trying to find a way out for him.... :-\ :-\ :-\

I dont think he has a defence, just trying to wriggle out of the mess he's in.
Just like Huntley before him.  He's a coward.

Being sober doesn't preclude him from having murdered her anyway. Does anyone know if the land rover had been cleaned up on the outside and underneath as the house was?

I'm sure they said they did not find blood evidence in the land rover and this is why they don't believe he had run over April, for if he had, then they would be traces...and no matter how many times he had cleaned his car the forensics would have something. This also makes his story such a lie...because if he had placed April on the back seat after that then there would be forensic evidence to have backed that up.  So she could not have bled in a vehicle accident and no evidence supports that....I might be totally wrong because I have not read all what has been reported so far....In answer to your question, they have not said the land rover had been cleaned, but if you remember it was in the garage being repaired....Now, this is interesting, because we don;t know what part of the land rover was being repaired do we?

Interesting, maybe we'll get more details of that during the trial.

Patti, when I heard he had said it was an accident, it reminded me of Ian Huntley and his statement.  He claimed the girls were playing in the bath or something like that and there was an accident and one or both of them drowned.  That was a lie and this is a lie.  These people are murderers and cowards imo.

Maggie, you're correct. I've been talking about that today with some friends. It seems he had pulled up details of the case on the internet.

Oh really April, I didn't know that, I just recognised the same pattern of behaviour.  The house was full of traces of the poor little girls blood, cannot bear to think what he did to her, cannot imagine how her parents are holding up.  What a nightmare.

You mean Holly and Jessica's images?  I haven't read about this case because I can't bear to.  Well it seems like it's open and shut to my mind.

I know how you feel Maggie, it's heartbreaking to read. I don't think anyone who has read or heard about Little April would not have been touched by it.

I'm going to be honest now and say that if this animal is responsible for April's death, I really hope he is locked up for life. I can't believe those with a prediliction for small children can EVER be rehabilitated because they enjoy what they do. That means children will NEVER be safe from them.

If he had run her over, her little friend would have said so? I can't understand the situation with the land rover. She was said to have been driven off in a GREY car,and there are cctv images of a grey car in tuffins petrol station. Confused! He clearly killed poor little April quickly. I assume he "disposed" of her in the bath and then burnt her body. Sorry to be graphic, but can only assume this is what happened. I also assume he disposed of the ashes, from the black bin bag he was seen with,in the river. Yes,there were two boxes of cider in his living room, but if you look closely, one of the boxes is still pretty much full. So drunk he couldn't remember? My arse! I predicted he would claim he had a blackout. Sick ba***rd!

what he saying does not fit with any of the facts witch makes me wonder why hes saying it.

maybe he honestly thinks that is what did happen.
