from what i have seen he hasnt.

She's been quite a poorly child for her years, with her palsy and also IBS,so the little thing would have had pain ,bless her. Her little legs would have eventually given away under the pain of her condition. It doesn't bear thinking.
It's times like these that you stop and think of your own children,g/children and great g/children,and it sends a shiver through your body at the thought.
Her fear, pain, and cold and wet conditions. It's a nightmare.

Does anyone know if the childs' father has ever been mentioned.?

Hi Lookout

Yes. Her mother married her father a few months ago and I do believe he is nearly blind due to a degenerative disease....this is why he could not join in the search or attend any news conference. Sky News said he was upset and frustrated ....by this. The whole family must be devastated by the sudden announcement from the police....No words can describe how they will be feeling right now and, of course the whole community.

I am disgusted at Kay Burley in the way she told April's godmother that it was now a murder change, which means she is no longer here . The woman was clearly upset...This was done live and they have not repeated it. I have complained to sky along with many more who more to the point than I was... :( :(

Sky news reporting that there is a possiblity that clothes have been found. The new arrest does not stop the timings of the custody of Bridger so unless they take evidence to the magistrate he will be released at 5pm tonight.

I don't think that is the case Gordo30. It was already extended till today, but they take the extra extention to tomorrow afternoon.

I'm not sure how the new arrest works...note no charge has been made, they have chosen their words very carefully I think....Does the new arrest mean they can hold him longer?  I'm not sure! I would think they have a new timescale to make formal charges.......

If he had told them he had killed her, they would have charged him with her murder........I just hope those people that are looking for her find her soon....so they can not only give the family closure, but to charge the bastard.....

Dogs should have been used from the outset. They now have a trained dog in use,but not sure what its " speciality " is. Doesn't bear thinking either.

Punishment would be best served by the women of the community.

Unfortunetly its exactly the case patti as this was not a new arrest but the old suspicion of abduction being upgraded to an suspicion of murder. They have to go before a migistrate tonight before 5pm or he has to be released.

I think we have to keep in mind here that he has not been charged with anything at this point.

Cadaver dogs are now in use around a home where Bridger lived, about 9 or so miles away.

Hi Patti,,not that I know of,,there's a pic of what she was wearing at the time though.

Did you see the bit about the known/recognisable person on the riverbank, carrying a black bag.?

i would of thought they would of charged him by now if there was evidence.
They have now nugnug. This kind of thing was virtually unknow in the 50s when I was a kid. Although I do remember a time the story which had become know as "The babes in the wood". Two tottlers had been abducted by this paedophile and murdered. It shocked the whole nation.
One good thing is that although this kind of crime is more common today, thankfully people are still just as shocked when it happens. And more people are outspoken about paedophiles and the terror they cause to our children with their unnatural lusts.

I would have said that it was unusual to name names anyway at this stage while in custody.

There was another attempted abduction here two weeks ago, which the police were still working on when this happened. The attempt was on a little boy,but he managed to get away. Neverthless,it could be the same character, and if the little boy recognises Bridger, then that's their man.
It's possible that this is where their lead came from.

the reason bridger was nicked i think is he owns a left hand drive car.

a witness said got in the right side of a car witch would imply a left hand but not necessarily

now the guys got 6 kids and hes allowed to see them so obviously hes got no previous..

I don't think they have charged him yet Lugg, only arrested him. Unless I have missed it with being busy indoors...
