There was a strong suggestion that clothes had been found being aird throughout Saturday. This would account for the numerous charges and the two women who saw the man with the bag on the far bank knew the man they saw.

Thats one hell of a lot of resourses at work here and If it was me I would double the amount to find this little girl but to put that much effort into a search suggests they have something to search for or they have nothing and are desperate to find something to back up their charges.

Im sry if I sound like an apologist for the guy in custody as Im  determined that if the worst is realised then I want whoever caught  put away for ever but It has to be done right and there are too many paralles with other case's here for it to be going right from the start, in fact I would go as far as to say at this point the investigation is a bit  of a shambles.

Did they ID Bridger as the man they saw?

The only thing they were allowed to say to the press was that they had told the police what they knew and had seen and It was up to the police now to do with that info as they must. They were not allowed to be interviewed by the press again.
They had stated on Saturday morning that they knew the man they had seen and he was local, no defo I.D.

From what I read the item of clothing was not relevent to the enquiry as it had been lying there for weeks rather than days.

Thanks Gordo.

I wonder if they interviewed everyone who was at the swimming pool/leisure centre at 5pm?  This is the first time that I have seen any mention of that.  2 hours later she is gone.  I wonder how long swimming lessons last?

I would have thought about an hour? and then getting changed and the returning home suggests that there may only have been 30-40 mins from returning home and getting abducted! that does sound strange, it may also account for the little girl being allowed out to play for say an hour before bed sort of thing, you all now what kids are like wanting to tell their friends where they have been and what they had done.(all my take on it)

This whole situation is strange to me!  I will assume Aprils father didnt drive due to being more or less blind and Aprils mother did, so I wonder if she drove April to the leisure centre then back home.  April I assume stayed at home (outside playing) when her parents went to the parents evening, does anyone know if that is correct? If Aprils mum didnt take her to swimming lessons and then back home then who did?

Its all up in the air here mate as I was of the understanding that the parents meeting at the school was in the afternoon. So off to swimming lessons afterwards. I know the father is almost blind so I would suggest yes either the mother of step grandfather took them along to the pool but I would doubt that she was left alone at the pool. If it was my kids I would have quite happily watched them progress in their swimming and got them ready to go home afterwards. It would be interesting to know if any of Bridger's kids attended the same pool or if he was at the centre that may have had a gym or such at the same time.

If you remember the case just a few weeks ago of the young girl from Croydon that went missing, It took what 4/5 days to find her and by proxy of where she was found they could charge those responsible, no problem there but that was the Met force at work, big budgets and all the experienced staff they needed and yet it took days to even find the poor girl who hadn't even left the house at all!! We have a case here where officers were dispatched to an address that Bridger had stayed in but had asked a neighbour where the residents were, she replied that she didn't know where they were but that the previous resident she had seen only minuets before walking along the road Bridger would later be arrested on. Bridger was the man they had went round to talk to only 17 hours after the abduction! and must have been on the radar before then. This guy had to have been known to the police or under some sort of survailance before all this kicked off.
