As the nights draw in and we wave goodbye to British Summer Time I post this relaxing piece played by Bulgarian pianist Georgi Cherkin. Not strictly speaking meant for a symphony orchestra it is nevertheless played and accompanied in an exquisite manner, the nickname Moonlight Sonata (or Mondscheinsonate for those with a knowledge of the German language) not coined until 1832 by the poet and music critic Ludwig Rellstab, who observed its resemblance to moonlight reflecting upon Lake Lucerne. https://youtu.be/Hu7hscHkfPw
