Sorry Steve, your off into fantasy land again. It's well documented that there were guns freely available for use, also ammunition. There was a gun in the downstairs toilet and one on the spiral staircase from the kitchen...that is not detrimental to Nevill as that was the usual way farmers lived until after the change to the gun laws in the late ?90s? Surely temptation enough for anyone who had suicide or anything else on their mind...
There was guns everywere in that house, mind you nothing was illegal!! only in 1988 it was required to record the shotgun details on the license, so a license holder could buy a shotgun and sell it on no trace!! and steel cabinets were only enforced on section 1 rifles, handgun, carbines! but ammo then for rifles can be stored anywhere!! but it requires to be locked up as required by the 1988 act!
But shotgun cart has not changed nor any security is required to store shotgun carts.
even today gun laws to me are ok, you can even walk passed customs with a barrel blank!! a rifled barrel with no chamber! and later chamber it for a homemade sten gun.

Mind you police want every shooter to have soild exit doors or PVC, but some how a two half wooden slat door with only a latch is suit security for a farmer! including Nevils under stair gun cupboard!
